It’s sad to see someone’s pets out in the “wild”. I’m sure these guys have a home somewhere near. They probably live less then a mile away. But campers feed and try to “love” these little guys which is why they stay. It’s not a big problem yet but it could have rippling effects on the lake.
The lake also has a problem with other birds such as the Canadian Goose. These non-native birds end up staying and freezing in our cooler climate during the winter time. If it’s not by choice it’s because the food campers and visitors have tossed them ended up stunting their growth and they ended up getting angel wings.
